Feminist Therapy

As a therapist who practices from a feminist framework, I recognize that the personal is political. Our mental health  is shaped by our families, our friends, and the political, economic and sociocultural systems that influence how we see ourselves and navigate the world. This means that healing isn't just about changing your thoughts or behaviors; it's also about understanding the broader forces that have shaped your story.

I also recognize that therapy exists within a system where power differentials are real. Rather than positioning myself as the expert on your life, I see therapy as a collaborative process. My role is to bring clinical knowledge and curiosity while honoring that you are the expert on your own lived experience.

As a cisgender woman, I have a deeply personal understanding of how patriarchal values can teach women to disconnect from themselves—to ignore their intuition, minimize their needs, tolerate unhealthy or unsafe relationships, and shrink themselves for the sake of others’ approval. Therapy offers a space to examine how sexism, misogyny, and other systems of oppression may have influenced your relationships, your sense of self, and the ways you've learned to survive. Together, we can begin untangling those messages so you can reconnect with your own values, discernment, and inner authority.
